Emergency Service

Project Background

Cox Engineering worked closely with DPS on this Core / Shell building for CRISPR Therapeutics, a Switzerland-based gene-editing company. Duct and Pipe Teams Rigged and Installed Duct and Pipe to the following pieces of HVAC Equipment: (13) AHU’s, (5) EAHU’s, (4) Hot Water Boilers, (1) Steam Boiler, (4) Air Cooled Chillers, (3) Roof Exhaust Fans, (1) Buffer Tank, (11) Pumps, (26) VAV’s, (12) FPB’s, (180) Lab Valves, and (120) HEPA Filters.

This flexible, digitally enabled facility is unique in utilizing a compact design with multiple independent production suites, each capable of producing a different product at a different stage of development while maintaining strict product segregation.

Our Approach

Throughout the duration of this project, Cox was able to meet a fast-paced schedule on time, while performing quality duct and pipe work. One major challenge was installing 180 lab valves along with duct and pipe before the ceiling contractor came in to install their walkable lab ceiling panels.

All Roof Piping needed to be prefabbed and rigged onto the roof before steel dunnage was erected. This pipe was then installed under the steel quickly to ensure the steel contractor could install their steel grating above the pipe on the roof.

Once the Steel was landed on the roof, all 13 AHU sections were rigged and installed over one weekend to stay on this fast-paced project schedule.
